L'alizé est un vent régulier des régions intertropicales (entre 23°27 nord et 23°27 sud), soufflant d'est en ouest de façon régulière des hautes pressions subtropicales (crête subtropicale) vers les basses pressions équatoriales (zone de convergence intertropicale). Dans l'hémisphère nord, il souffle du nord-est vers le sud-ouest, dans l'hémisphère sud du sud-est vers le nord-ouest1. Les alizés s'étendent depuis le niveau de la mer (0 m) jusqu'à 1 500 ou 2 000 mètres d'altitude.
The trade wind is a regular wind from the intertropical regions (between 23°27 north and 23°27 south), blowing from east to west regularly from subtropical high pressures (subtropical ridge) towards equatorial low pressures (intertropical convergence zone ). In the northern hemisphere, it blows from the northeast to the southwest, in the southern hemisphere from the southeast to the northwest1. The trade winds extend from sea level (0 m) to 1,500 or 2,000 meters above sea level.
